Gas Central Heating

What type of boiler will I receive?

If your home is either a bungalow, flat or maisonette, a combination boiler will be installed. This provides instant hot water without the need for a hot water cylinder.

If your home is a house, or a particularly large bungalow, i.e. three bedroom, then you will receive a system boiler with a pressurised hot water cylinder. This type of cylinder will deliver your hot water at a higher pressure than traditional gravity fed systems.

We install Vaillant boilers – www.vaillant.co.uk

If your home is currently on electric storage heaters and there is a nearby gas main in the street then we will look to get you a new metered gas supply installed. If there is no nearby gas main present then we will look to get your home added onto the Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) programme.

How do I use the system?

Each installation will include a room thermostat, programmer and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs). With combination boilers, the programmer is incorporated into the front face of the boiler.

The room thermostat allows you to set the desired temperature of your home, the programmer controls the time when the heating and hot water will come on and TRVs provide additional control of the temperature within an individual room. The combination boiler programmer will not contain an option to set hot water times as this type of boiler will provide hot water on demand.

Finally, under no circumstances must radiators be removed, drained down or bled. Please contact us should you require any of these services.
