Minor adaptations
Minor adaptations are straightforward installations that do not involve any structural changes to your home.
Minor adaptations to your home can include:
•grab rails
•stair rails
•lever taps
•half steps
•handrails to steps
Following an assessment by our Trusted Assessors or an Occupational Therapist, the Accessibility Team will aim to get any necessary adaptations carried out without delay to ensure your needs are met as quickly as possible.

Requests for Minor Adaptations While in Hospital
If you are currently in the hospital, requests for minor adaptations must come from your Hospital or Community Occupational Therapist to ensure a safe and proper discharge.
Minor works Service standard
These will be processed in date order, unless they are required for hospital discharge or to reduce a high risk need.
Urgent:
To facilitate hospital discharge or carer access.
Works completed within five working days from receipt of recommendation.
Standard:
Provision of grab rails, stair rails, etc.
Works completed within 15 working days from receipt of recommendation.
Planned:
Work or specialist items that need to be ordered from contractors prior to fitting.
Works completed within 60 working days from receipt of recommendation.
