Applying for minor adaptations and equipment with an in-house Trusted Assessor (TA) in Northamptonshire
For properties based in Northamptonshire, we have in-house Trusted Assessors who can assess the immediate need for minor adaptations that enhance accessibility and safety within your home.
A key benefit of using a TA is that minor works can be approved and implemented more quickly compared to waiting for an Occupational Therapist (OT), who manages more complex cases.
Once you’ve requested an assessment for minor adaptations, our Accessibility Coordinator will conduct a pre-assessment to confirm if the Minor Works Service meets your needs. If suitable, they will schedule a visit from our in-house Trusted Assessor to assess your living situation.
What happens next?
The Trusted Assessors will visit your home to:
•Assess your difficulties by discussing your situation, observing your home, and seeing how you manage daily tasks.
•Identify areas where you’re struggling and make recommendations for minor adaptations.
•Based on their assessment, the TA will make recommendations for minor adaptations that can be implemented quickly.
•If the TA identifies more significant needs outside their scope, they will direct you to an OT for a comprehensive assessment, ensuring you receive the appropriate recommendations for your needs.
