We’re delighted to announce that our largest ever scheme, Chamomile Gardens in Biggleswade, has won the Herts & Beds Constructing Excellence (CE) award in the category “Residential project of the year”, resulting in an entry to the regional CE East of England awards.
Completed in November 2022, the extra care scheme in Biggleswade has 93 one and two-bedroom apartments for over-55s and offers independent living with tailored care and support.
Dave Lakin, Director of Development & Commercial, said: “We’re thrilled that Chamomile Gardens has won this award and very grateful to architects Kyle Smart Associates, who nominated it.
“We’re very proud of this scheme as we’ve a lot of happy residents there, enjoying their new high quality apartments, the spacious communal areas and the beautiful landscaped gardens.
“Not only have we built homes that are safe, modern and affordable, we’re also building on the sense of community, providing additional facilities on site, including a hairdresser, restaurant and a changing places bathroom, which members of the public will be able to use.”
Kyle Smart Associates said: “Kyle Smart Associates are delighted and proud that Chamomile Gardens was awarded the HBCEC “Residential project of the year” and that was also highly commended in the “Building Project of the Year”.
“It has been such an exciting and rewarding experience to be involved with this scheme from inception to completion, alongside Grand Union. We believe this is one of the reasons for the successful scheme we have today, delivering a beautiful design and functional and welcoming layout that residents and locals love and enjoy.”
If Chamomile Gardens is successful at the regional awards, then it will be entered into the national CE awards in November.
