Grand Union Housing Group has delivered 20 modern shared ownership apartments on the site of its former office in Towcester, Northants, in partnership with Parrott Construction.
Saxon Court, a contemporary three-storey building, was completed in September. The complex includes 19 two bedroomed apartments and 1 one-bedroomed apartment, and has been in high demand from buyers.
Grand Union’s Director of Development & Commercial, Dave Lakin, said: “We’re delighted with the transformation of our former office block into these high quality, modern homes.
“Shared ownership is an affordable route into home ownership, so we’re pleased to be able to help new customers onto the property ladder.
“We were also keen to deliver new homes above the current sustainability standards and it’s really pleasing that we’ve been able to achieve that.
“We took a fabric-first approach to the design and development of Saxon Court, which means we prioritised energy efficiency right from the start. The building’s walls and insulation are thicker, so homes will require less heating.
“The eco-friendly heating system uses air source heat pumps, a non fossil fuel approach, to provide heating and hot water. As a result, carbon emissions are reduced, which supports our aim of making a positive impact on the environment.”
