Thank you to our involved residents

Grand Union Housing Group hosted a ‘thank you’ dinner recently for 30 of our involved residents at the Holiday Inn East in Milton Keynes.

Phil Hardy, Group Director of Operations said: “As part of Volunteers Week we wanted to thank those residents who go out of their way to be involved and the impact they make on the wider community.

“From stakeholder panels looking at looked at how we deliver services to residents, to scheme based volunteers looking out for their neighbours, these residents are all helping to build stronger communities in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.”

Phil presented Stotfold resident Arthur Castle, 86, with a pen to mark his retirement from the Stakeholder Panel but we’re delighted he continues to be part of our ‘GUHG 100’ consultation group.

The meal had a local feel for the volunteers with the Bedfordshire clanger (a suet pastry dish that is savoury at one end and sweet at the other) and an Earl Barton leek pie.
